corngrowth: Steve, I don't know whether this will be your entry for the current contest.

If not, think it over, as this would be a very appropriate entry.
If so, Good Luck with it, my friend!

Flmngseabass: This is really good Steve. I can feel that urge you were taking about so I can relate. Thanks for resisting for us all!:):):)

corngrowth: I wondered how this capture was taken until I read your narrative, Chris.
Think you've showed the image already on the display of your camera to the police officer. Think she was impressed. Could be an explanation why she was that kind to you, ☺ .
Excellent camera work resulting in a perfect night shot!

4th place
Breaking the Rules by Dunstickin

Pistos: What I like is that it breaks rules while keeping them in more subtle ways. The tall grass on the left and the grey clouds cause the image to be broken 1/3 to 2/3 in the vertical direction. The tops of the people's heads plus the blue sky/cloud line roughly falls on the 1/3 line. Nice results. It is because the rules are broken that the image traps the eye, such as the subjects not being large in the picture, and yet because of subtlety, the picture remains pleasing to the eye, so you continue looking.

5th place
Broken Rules by Ramad

trixxie17: I like the composition Raj though it may technically break the "rules"!

elektronist: You really broke several rules on this image Raj. Good luck in the contest my friend.

Dunstickin: Yes, certainly this 'Breaks the Rules'....

Good find and good luck in the contest!
